Industrial Maintenance, different from what one might think, is not just about repairing and changing equipment or parts that have presented problems.
In fact, this type of reactive positioning, where maintenance only happens after a defect, is the least recommended. Since it is the one that can cause the most damage to the factory.
But before talking more about the Types of Industrial Maintenance, it is important to define what it really is.
We can understand it as: a set of technical and administrative operational practices.
Its objective is to prevent, predict, monitor and solve problems in the machinery of a factory, maintaining its proper functioning and avoiding production stoppages.
This is one of the most important activities in the context of the industrial environment. Since, if the work is not done correctly, it can cause huge losses and impact all areas of the company.
In addition, it can jeopardize the safety of equipment and workers.
Within Industrial Maintenance, there are some subdivisions, which vary according to each objective. In general, we talk about 3 main types of maintenance:

Predictive Maintenance
Its purpose is to predict when maintenance will be required. For this, it is based on the analysis and monitoring of machinery, as well as its parts, identifying possible wear and failures.
Among the checks made are heat dissipation, fluid analysis, vibrations, noise, among others.
This maintenance must take place at a defined frequency to prepare the entire production system, thus reducing downtime and optimizing the time spent on activities.
Preventive maintenance
Its main objective is to prevent Corrective Maintenance from being necessary.
In this process, we carry out specific corrections, already identified in the predictive phase, in order to prevent failures and defects from causing production to stop.
Preventive Maintenance must also occur periodically and its frequency is defined according to criteria such as Productivity, Time and Use.
Corrective maintenance
Ultimately, this is the maintenance that least should happen within a properly controlled factory environment.
They are necessary when equipment and parts fail, and then it is responsible for solving such a problem, through exchanges or repairs.
They are further divided into Planned and Unplanned.
The first type occurs in machine stops, the second and most alarming of them, indicates a serious failure that must be corrected immediately so that it does not cause even more damage or compromise the integrity of the company's equipment and employees.
As we could see, each type of maintenance has its peculiarities and objectives.
As in all areas of a factory, the more planned and less unexpected the interventions of the maintenance team, the smaller the impacts both on production and on the efficiency of the Industry.
